Project Name: Training Workshops on Information Architecture and Writing for the Web
Client: University of Richmond
Services Provided: Training, Information Architecture, Content Strategy, Usability
Challenge
University of Richmond, a prestigious, private university in Richmond, Virgina implemented a new content management system to unify a large number of disparate sites across the university. In order to begin to roll the many, individual microsites into the content management system, the UR team needed to develop templates, systems and standards. This would not only help to unify the look and feel of the microsites, but would also provide a base information architecture and set standards for site structure, content components and style guidelines. Because the Web team was comprised of resources housed in different departments and with varying degrees of experience in Web design and production, UR needed to provide a common base of understanding in information architecture and content strategy.
Experienced Flair consultants planned, developed and prepared custom workshops for the University of Richmond in the areas of information architecture, usability and writing for the Web. The Flair workshops highlighted core tenets of each area within the context of overall Web development methodology. Each workshop featured custom workshop exercises for hands-on experience and provided participants with the opportunity to ask questions, highlight examples and workshop real, day-to-day challenges within their areas of expertise.
