Challenge
Celsis International is a leading provider of scientific research instruments and tools, tissue samples and specimens, and analytical laboratory services. The initial site was designed to appeal to the investor community and lacked focus on the company’s products and services. Navigation and online tools were difficult to use or lacking in many areas throughout the site, resulting in a confusing user experience. Much of the site content was lacking or outdated. In addition, the site was built using hard-coded HTML pages, which were cumbersome to update, approve and track. Finally, the site’s overall look and feel was inconsistent with the company's brand identity and objectives.
Solution
Flair worked closely with Celsis stakeholders to gather site requirements, understand technical and brand needs, and gather feedback from actual customers. We researched and recommended a new content management system (CMS) and also assisted with the implementation of Lyris HQ, an integrated suite of online marketing tools (analytics, email marketing, and search marketing). In conjunction with the CMS implementation, Flair’s design and development teams designed the new site's look and feel, overall navigation and functional tools such as web forms, mailing list sign up, news feeds, search and a solution configurator. Flair's team developed an overall content strategy and assisted in the implementation of the CMS, including content development, content management, copywriting and editing content for the new site. The Flair team also provided overall project management for the entire site redesign and implementation--a project which spanned over 15 months.
The new site launched with great success, providing Celsis with tools for managing web pages, landing pages and email campaigns, monitoring site measurement and metrics, and capturing and managing leads. Flair continues to support Celsis with ongoing site maintenance, content management and strategy, search engine optimization and strategic planning.
