Project Name: Knowledge Management Temporary Services
Client: Deloitte
Services Provided: Content Strategy
Challenge
Deloitte, a global provider of audit, tax, consulting and financial services, relies upon
its Knowledge Management group to support existing client engagements and to assist in business
development by researching and supplying information on industry news and emerging trends, by
managing a wealth of internal documents and by facilitating the sharing of industry knowledge and
expertise among professionals in each of the practices across the country. The Knowledge Manager,
who is dedicated to a specific industry, is responsible for managing his or her industry's section
of the firm's Intranet. When one of Deloitte's Knowledge Managers requested a temporary leave of
absence, they needed to fill the position with a resource who could quickly assume the role and work
with minimal supervision. The project required a senior level Web professional with a solid understanding
of standard Intranet management principles and extensive content strategy experience.
Solution
For this project, Flair provided a consultant who was able to step into the Deloitte Knowledge
Manager role and immediately assume most of the responsibilities related to this position. Following
established Deloitte practices and solid content strategy principles, the Flair consultant collected a
variety of new content from internal and external sources and managed the organization of these materials
on the Deloitte Intranet (DeloitteNet). As new content was added, the overall structure of content on the
site was carefully maintained. Throughout the project, content updates announcing the availability of
these materials were regularly communicated to industry professionals across the firm via site updates
and electronic newsletters. By effectively communicating with the permanent Knowledge Manager at both
the beginning and the end of the project, Flair ensured the transition of responsibilities was seamless.
